Kniple
In 2023, I created a advent calendar for my father, drawing a portrait of his summer house in Norway. I designed the drawing as a 6x4 grid where each square depicts a typical scenario.
The image was made using Blender with rotated and skewed and scaled geometries. I was inspired by pre-perspectival images by artists such as Giotto, where scale is determined by importance rather than position in cartesian space. These images skew and cut buildings, disregarding realism in favour of narrative. This followed my research about AI images that can be found here.
Each square was rendered as 1024x1024 and passed through Stable Diffusion, adding an extra layer of realism, which combined with the skewed geometry creates an uncanny effect.
